Coping with Divorce: Teen Support Group
Navigating Life Changes Together
Growing up with divorced or separated parents can be challenging and result in a plethora of emotions. Our new Coping with Divorce: Teen Support Group provides a supportive space where teens between the ages of 13–17 can connect, process their emotions, and find stability during this transition.
Our Teen Divorce Support Group includes:
12 weekly sessions at our Lakeview office in Chicago
A small group format, led by therapists with deep expertise in familial relationships
A weekly space to process, feel understood, and build the social-emotional toolkit to support their journey
Your teen will learn how to:
Identify and express intense emotions, such as anger or blame
Deal with loyalty binds and confusion
Navigate and reframe self-limiting beliefs and narratives
Implement healthy coping skills
How do I know if my teen is a good fit?
It can be tremendously hard to tell your teenager you’re getting a divorce or separation. During this natural phase of independence and exploration, teens may struggle to understand and control their range of emotions.
Regardless of how your teen handles the news, joining a support group gives them an opportunity to connect with other teens who are going through similar feelings.
Sessions begin on December 4th, 2024.
Our Coping with Divorce: Teen Support Group is every Wednesday from 5pm–6:30pm CST at our Lakeview office.
Please note: We have a two-week break for the holidays. Sessions will run from December 4th to March 5th, 2025.
